Initial Ideas

After an exploration into the possibilities which are available to us in order to produce our multimedia production, as a group we started to discuss ideas which appealed to us. Firstly we discussed the possibility of speeding up time and portraying the concept of life. As we go through life each individual collects baggage which we thought we could look into. Are there specific aspects which make people behave the way they do? Are there benefactors and aspects which though a persons life contribute to their overall outcome. This continued us to discus the different layers of performance which could be incorporated into our final piece such as time and place which initially we all agreed we wanted to perform in a variety of locations and portray the life span of a human being. This continued us to discuss the visibility and invisibility that an individual person portrays in society during this discussion it occurred to me that where better to investigate this then in a busy supermarket. This idea occurred to me that not only is a supermarket a busy environment but its customers are also seen to be in a rush showing disregard to a single individual.

After we discussed the individual’s existence in society we toyed with ideas which could make the individual more susceptible to reconnection with the world around them. Ideas include us dressing up as famous characters and acting out scenes inLincolntown centre. Staging a robbery in public surroundings, allowing us to analyse their reactions.

Moving away from ideas we looked into multimedia aspects we looked into the ideas displaying our performance. Incorporating the use of individual mobile phones to view the performance was discussed, but researching factors which would need to be incorporated discouraged us from using this idea. Secondly we though of screens projecting in a variety of environments could be used but again it appeared this idea was unsuccessful due to the inadequate amount of staff and equipment saw us think of alternative ideas.
