Obstacles during the recorded process

During the recording process there were a variety of elements which we needed to overcome such as,

  • The weather: This was a hindrance to the filming process and due to typical English form it played up greatly. The main concern which we faced was wind when recording as it made the vocal elements extremely difficult to hear and understand resulting in many takes of specific scenes.
  • The light being constant: This was another element which we needed to try and battle with, especially as the majority of the recording had taken place outside and if we was to loose too much lighting then it would completely hinder that scene as were trying to create the effect that this was all happening so quick with no time for my character to think and react against what was happening.
  • Customers in both the shop and street: Hindered the process mainly in the university shop as they would just stand in the way of the camera and not move and start talking to the camera destroying the scene. This is why we decided to move locations to a smaller shop which had the right volume of customers creating the atmosphere we were looking for.
  • Street noise: We had to battle with the noise in the street mainly cars and Lorries which passed by when recording again made it extremely difficult to hear both myself on camera and me hearing the presenter talking to me. Again as previous many takes were needed to get the right consistently.
