Once our group had decided on final ideas it occurred to me that this work has similarly been produced by the production company Blast Theory. In their work A Machine to See With, their work shows members of the public entering online and participating with activities which they have no control over. In our performance we wanted to allow our participant and audience to have control. However, this was not the case throughout the whole of our production as we wanted to display the loss of control and shift of power the participant had throughout the production. As opposed to that of Blast Theory it is apparent that the only control that their participants have is by entering and participating. Again had we had decided on current themes which are relevant in today’s society and climate, riots, money situations (banker’s bonus), the lack of job and job opportunities and majority of the time it has been portrayed that it is the youth who have been effected. It is seen that in work that Blast Theory again have incorporated current themes that are relevant in today’s society the difference between their work and ours is that ours had the intention to try and encourage a more positive impact upon the participants life rather then purely for entertainment.
